Emma is finished.

My husband caught me talking to Emma ..lol. I couldn't help it. Once they have eyes ..they come alive. She is on Ebay for 7 days and looking for a good home.

Little bear

I am working on a primitive style bear. Sometimes it is nice to give my perfectionism a rest. ;) I have to admit it can be hard to make a 'not so perfect' nose. But once I get going I get brave and enjoy the distressing. I had to laugh when my daughter exclaimed "That bear is BIG" I guess compared to my 3.5 inch bears a 6 to 7 inch bear looks big.

I have just completed this little duo. The little elephant is a new design. My daughters were so sweet to google elephant pictures for me . They helped me design his ears and feet. 

New to Blogging.

Hello. Thought I would start off by introducing myself. I am a self taught bear maker.My journey into the bear world started in 2004. I was crocheting doilies and listing on Ebay and online in a Victorian store. One day while browsing Ebay I came across little crocheted bears and I was determined to make one.  I crocheted little bears for many months and then began needle felting bears. I wrote a pattern for needlefelting bears which is still sold on Ebay. I then had a desire to sew a little bear. This did not come as easy to me..but determiniation won and a little bear emerged. He wasn't the exact look I had in mind :/ but after much trial and error a better looking bear emerged. Combining my love for crochet I crocheted little hats and dresses for my creations.
I enjoy using my hands to create and I have done painting. knitting crocheting. sewing. needle felting. I love to try new things.
I am nearly 40 years old. Not sure how that happened..Am married to my best friend. We have 4 children . I also enjoy working around my home. Running and reading. Never enough hours in a day for me.
I work part time as a Registered Nurse in IV Home care which I enjoy. I have met a lot of wonderful people and each work day is a lesson in life. 
Now off to make more bears
